n the next few years, as school wellness programs are mandated, adopted, and promoted, it
will be important to systematically evaluate the implementation of wellness policies and
procedures with an emphasis on effectiveness and sustainability.  ROC offers the ideal solution
to the growing concern of how to implement and evaluate school wellness programs in Texas.

ROC offers solutions by:

  • Performing systematic assessments of school policies and practices related to nutrition,
physical activity, and obesity prevention and providing a detailed report of the findings
  • Enhancing health curricula to devote adequate attention to nutrition, physical activity,
reducing sedentary behaviors, and energy balance while placing an emphasis on
    behavioral skills.
  • Organizing the annual Reaching Overweight Children, Inc. 5K and 10K Fun Run for
    children and adults
  • Sponsoring children to participate in events promoting physical activity Organizing
seminars on promoting a holistic healthy lifestyle
  • Conducting annual assessments of each students weight, height, and gender and age-
specific BMI percentile and makes this information available to parents
